The State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC) was created in 1993 to allow State employees to give to many of their favorite charities through one annual campaign. United Way of Tyler/Smith County acts as the Campaign Manager for the East Texas area. United Way’s involvement is to manage the campaign and distribute the monies raised in the 25-county East Texas Area for the State of Texas.

In addition to Smith County, the East Texas Area covers the following counties: Anderson, Angelina, Bowie, Camp, Cass, Cherokee, Delta, Franklin, Gregg, Harrison, Hopkins, Lamar,  Marion, Morris,  Nacogdoches, Panola, Red River, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby, Titus, Upshur and Wood.

The State Campaign runs from September 1st to October 31st.  Local charities may obtain an application to be included in the 2006 campaign by contacting Lisa Gardner at lgardner@uwtyler.org  or 903-581-6376 ext. 206.

The State Manager may be reached at www.secctexas.org.
